Madison Square Garden is one of the most iconic sports and entertainment venues in the United States. Commonly referred to as "The Garden", MSG holds sports events, concerts, and award ceremonies throughout the year.
AKF served as Engineer of Record for Madison Square Garden to secure a Temporary Place of Assembly permit for the 60th Grammy Awards. AKF’s involvement established the requirements for safe exiting arrangements from the arena in the event of an emergency during the broadcast. AKF provided inspection services on the day of the event to ensure that the constructed layout met all NYC requirements for the permit issued.
AKF also consulted on numerous fire protection and life safety conditions throughout other spaces both inside and along the perimeter of the building to make sure that attendees and staff would have sufficient exit routes in light of the temporarily constructed features necessary to host an event of this magnitude.
