AKF Project in the news - Electrifying NYU

New York University is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040 and deep energy retrofits of older campus buildings are key to reaching that goal.

Rubin Hall was originally constructed in 1925 and is a landmarked building. AKF has been instrumental in the modernization of Rubin Hall, including upgrades to make the dormitory an all-electric building. These efforts drive down operational carbon emissions significantly in support of NYU’s compliance with NYC Local Law 97 and requirements from the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.

The project is pursuing EnerPHit certification, Passive House Institute's retrofit standard and promises to be one of the largest EnerPHit projects in the world!
