CHOP Project Wins ACEC Award

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) Hub for Clinical Collaboration and Central Utility Plant won an ACEC NY Engineering Excellence Gold Award, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! AKF provided MEP/FP engineering expertise as well as energy modeling throughout the design process to ensure the project stayed on track to achieve its LEED targets.

The 500,000 SF Hub for Clinical Collaboration consolidated CHOP’s west campus administrative offices into one building. The design of the South Campus Central Utility Plant (SCCUP) extended the plant westward its capacity to serve the entire Philadelphia campus and continued future growth.

As CHOP, the nation’s first pediatric hospital, physically grows, we are proud to be part of the team helping to expand their ability to deliver world-class care to children in need!
