Aerzen USA is the US headquarters of a German manufacturer of high pressure blowers and compressors used in the food and transportation industries. The USA headquarters, located in Coatesville, PA is the central industrial / manufacturing location for Aerzen. The facility consists of front office space, an assembly and repair space, and warehouse space.
One of the key owner requirements was that the assembly and repair space provide superior comfort at all times of the year without the use of air conditioning. To meet the energy goals of the project, AKF developed low energy strategies including a Vertical Closed Loop Geothermal Heat Pump System; Earth Tubes; Radiant Heat; High Volume / Velocity Fans; and Daylight Harvesting. AKF provided MEP design, energy modeling, retro-commissioning, and commissioning services as part of the original project and current expansion.
The facility achieved LEED-NC Gold certification under the US Green Building Council’s Green Building Rating system for new construction.
