Drexel University College of Medicine at Tower Health is a satellite campus of Drexel’s College of Medicine and will be affiliated with the Reading Hospital. With the capacity to educate and train 200 medical students, the new College of Medicine will feature state-of-the-art technology in spaces such as simulated patient rooms, anatomy labs, and various sized lecture halls to promote interdisciplinary education with medical staff.
AKF designed the new 6-story facility’s incoming MEP/FP services, main equipment/service rooms, and distribution throughout the building. Project design included a 500 kW emergency generator, 780 ton air-cooled chilled water plant, 210,000 CFM dual air tunnel custom air handling unit, and approximately 46,200 GSF of shell space for Drexel University to build out in the future.
